+ OVERVIEW
This water dropper is casted into a vivid figure of a lobster. During the peak periods, craftsmen would take real-life objects as subject of depiction, to satisfy market needs. Thus these sculptures became collectors' pieces. The water dropper was casted in detail with antennae, beady eyes and ten outstretched walking legs, enhancing the vividness of the lobster. The walking legs are depicted in different angles, suggesting the movement of the lobster. As a water dropper, a chamber inside the body of the lobster is designed to store water. Meticulous depiction of this water dropper shows excellent craftsmanship and is a rare piece of scholar object, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty.
