Yuichi Hirako was born in 1982 in Okayama, Japan. He graduated from Wimbledon College of Art in 2006, now lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. Hirako uses painting and sculptures as his medium, to discuss the symbiotic status between human and nature. Every painting of his is a sincere question to the nature, questioning the contemporary border between human and nature. Hirako delivers his purest artworks with oil painting, with each fine stroke to depict the theme of growth rings, vividly described the historical and religious significance of forest and nature in Japanese culture, which is animism. His applies vibrant colours and delicate constructions in his paintings, bold on colours and lines, with abundant components and extraordinary details, forming an exquisite theatrical scene. Hirako became globally active in recent years. Beside the exhibition Growth Rings, he has participated in exhibitions in Denmark, Netherland, France, U.S., Singapore, etc.
